Make a Difference Through Volunteering

Want to make a real impact in your community? Volunteer with Community Health Alliance (CHA) and help improve the health and well-being of families across Northern Nevada. Our volunteers support the Prescription Food Pantry Program, assist with fundraisers, and take part in outreach events that connect people to essential healthcare services.

Whether you’re an individual, family, student, retiree, or corporate team, your time can help nourish neighbors and expand access to care.

Volunteer At Our Prescription Food Pantry

Community Health Alliance’s Prescription Food Pantry addresses food insecurity as part of whole-person healthcare. Patients experiencing chronic conditions like diabetes or heart disease receive healthy food as part of their care plan — and volunteers make this possible.

Volunteer Responsibilities:
  • Sorting and organizing fresh produce and shelf-stable items

  • Packing nutritious food boxes for patients and families

  • Assisting with pantry distribution days

  • Supporting inventory and donation organization

By volunteering at our prescription food pantries, you help patients access nutritious food that supports better health outcomes.

Support Community Outreach Events in Reno

CHA participates in health fairs, school events, and community gatherings throughout Reno and Washoe County. Volunteers help us share information about medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services with those who need it most.

Outreach Volunteer Activities:
  • Staffing community event booths

  • Assisting with event setup and breakdown

  • Greeting families and sharing resources

  • Supporting health education activities

Support Fundraising Events for the Foundation

The Community Health Alliance Foundation relies on generous volunteers to help make their annual fundraising events a success. From Par for a Purpose: Teeing Up for Children’s Health to Be the CHAnge, volunteers play a vital role in creating memorable experiences that raise critical funds to support healthcare services for our community.

How Volunteers Can Help:
  • Event setup and breakdown

  • Guest registration and check-in

  • Donor engagement

  • Assisting with silent auctions, raffles, and activity stations

Volunteering at these events is a fun and rewarding way to connect with the community, meet new people, and support programs that improve the health and well-being of families across Reno and Washoe County.
